PUBLISHER in paradise
Being in a business of perpetual deadlines ince the age of 19, i have become accustomed to not exactly “living in the moment.” that was evident while celebrating my birthday in august, and it suddenly occurred to me that i was already thinking of Winter — december, January and february — specifically the
months covered by this issue of Destin Magazine. the autumn issue
had recently been delivered and, although i was strolling down the
110-degree las Vegas strip, my thoughts were of holidays and
hearts. not only was i contemplating the upcoming pages of
this publication, i was looking ahead to the special time at the
end of the year that i share with my family and, especially, the
opportunity to enjoy being mother and grandmother.

as time goes by and a new year unfolds, most of us resolve to be,
in one way or another, better than the last, as you will read in
“Turning Over a New Leaf,” (pg. 19). Commemorate the event with
a selection from Celebration Cocktails” (pg. 69) which features tasty
concoctions for the holidays, or to toast the ones you love at any
time of year, which is precisely when the ladies spotlighted in “The
Entertainers: Monark” (pg. 58) really sparkle. for the stars in your life,
“Destin Style: ’Tis the Season” (pg. 41) offers countless gift-giving ideas
for all occasions throughout the year. While in the spirit of giving to
others, read how young Campbell severance sets an admirable
example in “The Next Generation” (pg. 36).
i am very thankful to have been given the true blessings of life —
good health, loving family and friends, and a firm faith. to the
advertisers, readers and fans of Destin Magazine, i truly appreciate
your support and resolve to savor every moment of 2010!
